- PT-141 activates melanocortin receptors (MC3R and MC4R) in the hypothalamus, increasing sexual desire and drive through the central nervous system. Because it doesn't rely on nitric-oxide or vascular pathways, it's effective for both genders and for arousal-related dysfunction. On-demand: administered by subcutaneous injection about 45–60 minutes before sex, with effects lasting several hours.
- Inject about an hour before sexual activity (typical dose 1.75mg). Onset 45–60 minutes, duration 6–12 hours. Don't exceed 1 dose in 24 hours or 8 doses per month. Results improve with repeated, consistent use over time. Can be combined with TRT, HRT or PDE5s under clinician supervision. It's an on-demand medication — only use when needed.
- Common: transient nausea, flushing or warmth, headache, and injection-site reactions. Less common but worth watching: temporary rise in blood pressure, fatigue or yawning, dizziness. Message your care team if anything feels off.
